Formed in 1930, Ramblin’ Reck Club (RRC) is an organization committed to the preservation of traditions and the promotion of spirit on Georgia Tech’s campus. One of our primary responsibilities and greatest sources of pride is the maintenance and care of the Ramblin’ Reck, Tech’s one-of-a-kind mechanical mascot. The Reck Driver, who has the privilege of driving the beloved 1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe, is elected from within the ranks of the club. Some of RRC’s other responsibilities include inciting enthusiasm for Yellow Jacket athletics in the student body and maintaining campus traditions such as the T-Book, T-Night and several Homecoming events (Mini 500, Freshman Cake Race, and Ramblin’ Reck Parade).

RRC members are expected to attend weekly meetings on Monday nights as well as all home football games. All members are also expected to dedicate additional time to the club through committee membership and social functions. In addition to many responsibilities RRC has, members take part in many social activities with each other. As club membership is limited to 50 people, you get to enjoy being part of an organization that is a tight-knit circle of friends. RRC members regularly enjoy hanging out with each other outside of school functions at events such as Semiformal, the Braves Home Opener, Bowling Nights, Roadtrips to athletics events outside of Atlanta and more!

RRC’s 2012 Recruitment Process will include a written application, several socials with current RRC members, an interview with three RRC members, and, if selected, a probationary period lasting until Homecoming in the fall. RRC recruitment occurs during the spring of each year. If you have any questions please contact cody.fortune@gmail.com and include “Membership” in the subject line. Thanks for your interest in Ramblin’ Reck Club!
