RECKruitment Process

Picture of the 2021 RRC Polos

Every spring semester, Ramblin’ Reck Club holds RECKruitment in order to take in a new class of probates (probationary members). These probates are selected from a pool of applicants who must first submit an application and attend a series of RECKruitment events. This year's RECKruitment cycle will be held in-person with appropriate COVID-19 precautions (mask wearing, social distancing, and testing) being observed. Mask wearing and testing before and after all events are strongly encouraged for everyone going through the RECKruitment process. In-person events may be changed to virtual based on the on-campus status of COVID-19. Any changes will be communicated on the website, via email, and social media outlets. Any issues related to COVID-19 quarantine/isolation will be worked out on a case-by-case basis. Email Derek Prusener and Abi Ivemeyer, Ramblin' Reck Club Membership Co-Chairs, if you have questions or concerns. Find the breakdown of these events below:

Tips for RECKruitment

Written Application

The 2022 Ramblin’ Reck Club application can be found here. A completed written application must be submitted no later than Friday, February 4th at 11:59pm.

Information Sessions (Non-Mandatory)

For anyone interested in learning more about Ramblin’ Reck Club, what we are involved in on campus, opportunities within the Club, and the recruitment process, we will be hosting non-mandatory information sessions before the application deadline closes. Pizza will be provided, so feel free to stop in and introduce yourself and get the low-down on all things RRC during the session. If you cannot attend, do not fret! This information will be made available following the meeting.

RRC “Get To Know You” Events (Mandatory)

In order to provide applicants a casual setting to interact with Reck Clubbers and get a better feel for the kind of spirit Reck Club has for Georgia Tech, all applicants must attend one of the following Get To Know You events. Please note that applicants need only attend one of the following events in order to satisfy the recruitment requirements. Make sure to check in when you arrive, you do not need to stay for the entire event duration.

First Social (Mandatory)

Attending this social is your chance as an applicant to meet Reck Clubbers, get a feel for what Ramblin’ Reck Club is all about, ask any questions you may have about the Club or getting involved, and most importantly, sign up for an interview time. No need to stress about this event; be yourself and talk to anyone you do not already know! Dress code for this event is business casual, and will be hosted in-person at Bobby Dodd Stadium. More details to come.

There are two time slots for the first social: 7:00pm-8:00pm and 8:30pm-9:30pm. Please note down your availability on the application. If you are not available during either of these times, please email Derek Prusener and/or Abi Ivemeyer.

Interviews (Mandatory)

The interview portion of RECKruitment is designed to allow for Reck Clubbers to get to know applicants on a more personal basis. We just want to give each applicant the time to express their ideas, commitment, and personality. The interview portion consists of an individual interview. The encouraged attire is business semi-formal, but wear what is comfortable. Interviewees will sign up for an interview time slot during check-in at the first social. All interviews will be at the Bill Moore Student Success Center.

Second Social (Mandatory)

After all interviews have been conducted, the Membership Chairs will notify each applicant whether they will advance to the second round of RECKruitment. During this second round, applicants will attend a mandatory second social held from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Sunday, February 20th. Further details for this event will be sent out to those invited applicants only.

Any time conflicts with these events should be brought to the attention of Derek Prusener and Abi Ivemeyer, Ramblin’ Reck Club Membership Co-Chairs, no later than Friday, February 4th.

We wish you the best of luck during this recruitment process, and we look forward to meeting you soon. Thank you for considering joining the Ramblin’ Reck Club!
